Goals

Game:
1. Highly polished demo.
2. Sell players the main game.
3. Contain no spoilers for the main game.
4. Make it fun.

Narrative:
1. Self-contained story.
2. Balance between action and calm.
3. Balance between player action and story reaction.
4. Contain both a climax and a cliffhanger.

Structure

1. Discover
Beginning of the demo where players find their footing, experimenting and getting comfortable with the mechanics. Introduction to the main story.

2. Engage
Players are confronted with a low-stakes, simple scenario where they need to use what they have learned to make their first choices. Main plot unfolds.

3. Confront
Players need to make decisions and accept the consequences. The story is fully laid out and expanding with every action until it all comes to a climax/cliffhanger (or game over).
